Chapter 7 Using Projects for
Site Management
|
Creating a Project
When you create a new project, you must specify a folder to hold the project file. This folder must already exist somewhere on your computer. If the existing folder has files and subfolders, you can add them to the project.
 |
To create a new project:
|
- Click the Projects tab at bottom of the Resources window.
- Click the New Project icon at the top of the tab.
- Make the following entries in the New Project dialog.
- Project Name -- A descriptive name to display in the Projects list.
- Location of project file -- Enter the path to folder in which you want the project control file (apf) created. This is usually the project root folder.
- Select the Add all subfolders option to include all folders below the project root.
- Files types -- You can accept the default All files or, if you want to limit the files that are included in your project to certain types, open the drop-down list and select the file types that you want to include. Alternatively, you can enter the file extensions for the types you want included, separated by a semicolon.
- Click OK to create the project structure and the project control file.
